This is a very simple, clear infrared LED. Operating at 940nm these work well for generic IR systems including remote control and touch-less object sensing.

Good stuff. Used with PiZero NoIR camera to illuminate a bird box project.

Having received them i promptly learned i should probably have bought the version with 8400 as opposed to 9500(?) im amazed how small they are and look forward to setting two up on a breadboard with a movement detector to see if the local catand fox fight takes place again nearby.

Invisible light! Very visible with the IR camera and will be spot on for a wildlife box.

It's a Light Emitting Diode that emits infrared light. It does exactly what it says on the tin (well, it would if it came in a tin)!
