So this is the cheapy and it works, but not with all tags by the looks of things. Of course it won't read the details off your credit card but we have a range of RFID tags all seen as NTAG213 by the phone app but one of the tags does not even get detected by this reader. NXP is also quite reticent about helping and so I suspect it is outdated tech. This board is fine if you are setting things up from scratch and can limit the brand of tag that needs reading. You also want to be managing your own security if you need it - there is some provided by the card but the datasheet says that if you are taking security seriously you need to encrypt the data. Off to buy the more expensive PN532 breakout board and try again :-/
