Official Raspberry Pi Zero Case

by Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi Zero Case has been designed to fit both the Pi Zero and the Pi Zero W.

The case consists of two parts. It has a standard base featuring a cut-out to allow access to the GPIO, and a choice of three lids: a plain lid, a GPIO lid (allowing access to the GPIO from above), and a camera lid (which, when used with the short camera cable supplied, allows the Raspberry Pi v2 Camera to be fitted neatly inside it).

Kit includes the following:

  • 1 x base
  • 3 x lids (plain, GPIO, camera)
  • 1 x short camera cable
  • 4 x rubber feet

This case is perfect for the Zero2W. It comes with 3 top options including one that allows access to the IO field without having to open the case. Genius !!

Acceptable but no good for bonnet I am using (swapped cases with another I own). Great to easily access the SD card should you need.

Bought a load of bits for a few projects I wanted to start but unfortunately broke my hand in between ordering and delivery. 😩 So I haven't yet started on the projects I ordered them for. Love the fact that it comes with 3 different lids. Will certainly order another one to make into a security camera. As for delivery, it was fast and well packaged and I will certainly order more bits as with all this spare time I have at the moment, I'm coming up with plenty of new ideas.... Maybe a robotic hand incase mine never heals.

This is a very nice, well-made product, and I found when using it with the camera module that it all fitted as expected with the Raspberry Pi, I would purchase the product again but order another colour for a security camera, one complaint is that the kit did not include a heat sink.

It's great! Mostly! There's no way to change the SD card without competely removing the Pi from the case, which is a bit of a drag if you're testing multiple OS installs. The Pi fits into the case snugly, perhaps a little too snugly when seated fully. This meant I had to use a spudger to remove it to change the SD, and watching the Pi bend under tension was a little hair raising (but fine once I'd got the measure of it). And, frustratingly, the thickness of the case means that some standard mini HDMI adaptors don't quite connect to the Pi properly. I had to take a craft knife to the cheapo ones I bought to shave off a mm or two so they reliably connect. So, it's great! If you're not going to be tweaking it much once the Pi is in the case and your mini HDMI connectors are slimline enough. 😅
