MOSFET

If you’ve ever wondered how to control high current devices from a low-power microcontroller, a MOSFET is what you need.

These MOSFETs have a very low on-resistance and a control voltage (aka gate voltage) that is compatible with most 5V and 3.3v microcontroller or mechanical switches. This allows you to control high-power devices with very low-power control mechanisms.

For details on each MOSFET check out the datasheets

Used to control power to a very bright LED using an old BBC Microbit V1

Exactly as described, I used this MOSFET with a BBC Microbit to switch on the 12V LED lights in the shed and and then off after 5 mins, the Microbit also protects the battery from over discharging.
