VSRmini 6A 60W AC Battery Charger

by Overlander

A high performance 60W/6A battery charger with charging, discharging, balancing, storage and fast charge facilities.

⚠ This is a high powered charger suitable for charging 2-4 cell LiPo batteries such as these Overlander ones (and some other battery chemistries as detailed below). It shouldn't be used to charge single cell batteries.

Features

Lithium Balancing - The VSRmini monitors each individual lithium cell within your battery pack to guarantee equal charge and voltage between all the cells. This ensures the lifetime and safety of your batteries are always kept to the maximum. The built-in balancing port makes connection easy, and the pre-cut balance slots make it impossible for LiPo packs to be connected incorrectly. The in-bult internal resistance monitor will also help maintain the health of your packs.

Maximum Safety - This charger is designed with multiple built-in safety features such as; capacity limit, temperature limit, charge time limit, and an input capacity and voltage check. This charger has everything in place to guarantee maximum safety.

XT60 Input - The VSRmini also features an XT60 input, meaning additional charge leads are not required for batteries fitted with the popular XT60 connector.  An XT60 to Deans conversion lead is also included in this set for use with batteries fitted with a Deans type connector.

Charging Process

Charging with the VSRmini is extremely easy! Within a few simple steps the charger is ready to do all the hard work for you. With the charger display visible you can easily see the status of the charge, monitor each individual cell reading and the amount of capacity that has been put into your battery pack. It will also show you how long the charge has been operating for. All charge functions automatically cut-off once the process is complete, minimising the risk of human error.

Simply the best and most powerful MCU on the hobbiest market at the moment. Even the arduino setup works out of the box. So far I've tested I2C, SPI, Audio, USB audio, Rotary Encoder and SDIO card libs - all work flawlessly and fantastically well. Running some audio spectrum processing the Arm CMSIS libs for a 4096 FFT takes around 412us (0.4ms) including mag squared calcultions and all the various buffer copies - amazing stuff!

As someone dealing with microcontrollers for the first time the teensy is excellent. Incredible performance for the size and while it doesn't have a massive community the examples that are part of the ide are really detailed.

Nice little board with quite a bit of juice and a lot of connection options. Really nice that you can use it as a USB host, and that it has pinouts for ethernet too. Haven't tested all the stuff it can do, as I mainly use mine to run a DirtyWave M8 tracker/synth.

Fast delivery & well packaged. Using the Teensy 4.1 to run the "headless" version of the M8 tracking software - works great and setup was way easier than I expected.

I have soldered on the pins, and its running on my breadboard. I probably have not yet accessed 1 per cent of what this fantastic little board can do... I'm using Visual Studio Code with PlatformIO, all seems good so far....

Absolutely wonderful card. Incredibly fast and stable. Lots of RAM and lots of flash memory. It is also possible to expand both RAM and flash by soldering circuits on the underside of the card. With good code examples and a content-rich forum. Works well to write code in both Arduino and Visual Studio. I really love this circuit

This is a high end microcontroller. The USB host interface works very well with some good examples in the library. You can solder two PSram chips on the bottom for a Whopping 16GB of ram!!
