Antex XS25 Soldering Iron

by Antex

Everyone needs a good workhorse soldering iron and this is the one that Jon has been using since he was twelve!

By designing the bit to wrap around the heating element maximum heat is transfered into the bit, and little heat is lost to the environment meaning the iron heats up quickly and maintains its temperature consistantly during use.

  • Quick warm up
  • Good temperature regulation
  • Available with either a UK or EU plug
  • Replacable bit (wide range of replacements available)
  • Built to last - these things never break!

We also stock a set of alternative bits for this soldering iron

Update: As of 30th January 2017 this soldering iron now ships with a silicone cable rather than the standard PVC

Yarrrrrrrr this iron works great. Pimoronis customer servicer once again excelled themselves by replacing my previous iron that was well out of its warranty period. Really their after sales care is excellent.

Very easy to use, even for a beginner. The tip is well designed to heat the contact properly. Really pleased by the product.

it hs been excellent in soldering PCBs, so much so that a variable power soldering station I also bought has not been needed -yet.

This my second Antex, the first one being the 18w version which I have had for many years. The Antex XS25 is a very worthy replacement and look forward to using it for many years to come.

This is an excellent soldering iron. It heats up quickly and the cable is soft and very flexible. My only criticism is the bit is too large and you have to buy the set of three bits as an extra to get a bit small enough for circuit board work. The photograph shows what can be done with needle point bit.

Nice basic iron. Comes with a bit which is suitable for larger (Dual-in-line) components. If you are wanting to work on smaller items such as the the GPIO header then I would recommend getting a fine point (1mm or less) bit. I got the Antex XS replacement bits set from Pimorini, which provides a starter set of bits suitable for both fine work as well as basic de-soldering. Comes with a basic stand, but would recommend getting a proper bench stand as they are so cheap.
