Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Display

by Raspberry Pi

The 7” Touchscreen Monitor for Raspberry Pi gives users the ability to create all-in-one, integrated projects such as tablets, infotainment systems and embedded projects.

The 800 x 480 display connects via an adapter board which handles power and signal conversion. Only two connections to the Pi are required; power from the Pi’s GPIO port and a ribbon cable that connects to the DSI port present on all Raspberry Pi’s. Touchscreen drivers with support for 10-finger touch and an on-screen keyboard will be integrated into the latest Raspberry Pi OS for full functionality without a physical keyboard or mouse.

  • Turn your Raspberry Pi into a touch screen tablet, infotainment system, or standalone device.
  • Truly Interactive - the latest software drivers will support a virtual ‘on screen’ keyboard, so there is no need to plug in a keyboard and mouse.
  • Make your own ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) devices including a visual display. Simply connect your Raspberry Pi, develop a Python script to interact with the display, and you’re ready to create your own home automation devices with touch screen capability.
  • A range of educational software and programs available on the Raspberry Pi will be touch enabled, making learning and programming easier on the Raspberry Pi.

This is a nice display. Installation was simple and got it running with both a Pi 4 and a Pi 3A+. The edge frame is a little bulky and I'm not sure why it even needs it. The resolution (800 x 480) is definitely showing this product's age. It is fine but it could be much better (thus 4 stars). This is also a TFT display (not IPS) and the colors shift when you are looking at it from an angle. More modern displays use IPS screens. The touch functionality worked well out of the box for me. This LCD has been handy on my workbench.

Love this product, easy straight out of the box setup with no mucking around. The Finger and the mouse pointer don’t always match up but then again I haven’t looked to see if I can reconfigure that. Very happy altogether. It’s a great product, super easy to set up just plug and play. I was impressed with the delivery and the packaging.

Will be used with RPI 4. Read the assembly instructions in the support section on the site. Will also be trying the software tutorials there for it also.

Bought this and built a hifi network music streamer with piCorePlayer. Looks the absolute business, very pleased with it. Arrived quickly, well packaged and exactly as described.

An excellent, clear and well constructed display. My only issue upon setup of which I was unaware was that Bullseye (as of Jan 2022) isn't properly compatible with the display on a Pi 3B. As soon as I ran the Pi on as SD card with a copy of Buster, it ran flawlessly.

Easy Plug and Play DSI screen. I have smaller 3.5" screens which can be a pain to set up (rotating screen and touch calibration). This 7" screen is so easy to use. Simply plugged into the DSI port and power from the Pi's GPIO (or separate supply) and away it goes. I tried this out on raspberry Pi OS running on a Pi4B which worked great as a monitor/touch screen input, but now use it as an OctoDash Display on a pi running octoprint, replacing my smaller screen. very responsive and great screen overall.
