Joystick

This clicky joystick is great for DIY arcade builds, and it has a handy 5-pin connector that means connecting it is just a case of plugging in a single cable connector.

We use this joystick in our new Picade and it's solid, responsive, and reliable. The feel is a little looser than the Zippyy joystick that we sell, more similar to a Japanese joystick. Pair it with a Raspberry Pi, Picade X HAT, and some arcade buttons and you've got all the controls you need to build your own arcade machine!

We'd recommend also picking up one of our new Picade wiring looms, which includes a 5-pin connector to 5x Dupont connector cable that can be used with this joystick.

These are a near exact copy of a Sanwa JLF at a fraction of the price. The sticks come individually boxed with a standard 35mm ball top and dust washer. Pimoroni always pack professionally and the products arrive within a few days.

Great little joystick for a great price. Worked perfectly for a 3D printed retro joystick project for a C64.

Very good and clicky. Needs a bit of debounce code to work without triggering a few times

A good joystick interface for the Raspberry Pi typically offers a smooth and responsive gaming experience, which is critical for both developers and end-users looking to add control inputs to their Raspberry Pi projects. It often comes with a two-axis analog input alongside several push buttons, giving users the ability to implement a wide range of actions within their software. The build quality of these interfaces is usually designed to be robust enough to handle regular interaction and the wear and tear that comes with repeated use. A well-made joystick interface should maintain its responsiveness over time and not degrade with intensive use.

This Joystick is very good value for money. I wanted a Joystick which I could modify to use some Magnetic sensors on it this is good for my needs. The switches on it gine a Digital on / off response the Sensors I want to use will be linear 0v to 5v output. I am very happy with the Joystick. I could not have built it for the price. Top marks to Pimoroni

Very good and very reliable. For people who like more stiff controls this joystick may be a bit loose. But for my taste is perfect.

Love these joysticks - they have a good clunky, clicky feel to them. If you remove the mounting plate they can be used with very little room to spare too! I've bought of these things for various projects. Only wish there were different ball tops to choose from!

Responsive, loud and reliable. I've been using one of these on a panel for over a yrar year no problems, bought the extra one for player 2.

I bought these on offer but to they were already good value at full price, so it was a great deal. I've been buying similar looking joysticks from China at same price but these Zippyy ones are far better. The build quality is excellent and they have a restictor gate if you need it, which can be useful in some applications. Make sure you're happy with the shaft length (ahem). These are the short version which are great if you're surface mounting them from the top, your material is thin (like perspex) or for something like a donkey kong cabinet were the sticks are short. Fighting sticks are usually longer but I personally prefer these. They're not sloppy like some cheap joysticks. You're actuating the microswtiches as soon as the stick is moved with no play, which I think makes a far better product.

The joysticks are impressive for the price. Both the tops were scuffed up but other than that seems like a great joystick for home use.
