Adafruit Micro Lipo w/MicroUSB Jack - USB LiIon/LiPoly charger

by Adafruit

Oh so handy, this little lipo charger is so small and easy to use you can keep it on your desk or mount it easily into any project!

Simply plug it via any MicroUSB cable into a USB port and a 3.7V/4.2V lithium polymer or lithium ion rechargeable battery into the JST plug on the other end. There are two LEDs - one red and one green. While charging, the red LED is lit. When the battery is fully charged and ready for use, the green LED turns on. Seriously, it could not get more easy.

Lipo/Lipoly/LiIon Batteries not included, but we've got tons in the shop.

Charging is performed in three stages: first a preconditioning charge, then a constant-current fast charge and finally a constant-voltage trickle charge to keep the battery topped-up. The charge current is 100mA by default, so it will work with any size battery and USB port. If you want you can easily change it over to 500mA mode by soldering closed the jumper on the front, for when you'll only be charging batteries with 500mAh size or larger.

  • Comes assembled and tested with a free bonus JST cable!
  • 5V input via Micro-B USB connector
  • For charging single Lithium Ion/Lithium Polymer 3.7/4.2v batteries (not for older 3.6/4.1v cells)
  • 100mA charge current, adjustable to 500mA by soldering a jumper closed

Despite ordering these PCBs the weekend in the middle of the Christmas Holiday and not expecting them till the new year, the wonderful guys and girls at Pimoroni still managed to get these out to me. They delivered them on the 31st of December 2024. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful service. I can't recommend them highly enough

Very small and ideal for tight spaces. I had to buy a replacement, though, because the USB port became loose after 18 months or so and charging was intermittent. I've now made sure there is a support to prevent the USB port from moving when I heavy-handedly jam the plug in.

Just what I wanted as it has a USB-C input port and it seems to work perfectly ... what more could one ask? I believe it would be a great help to those of us who are, not in the know, if you could have a page so we ordinary folk could identify the different USB sockets . All I need now is some good weather to fly and enjoy the 'revived' Lipo power source in my Moziesky 1884.

Just the piece I needed! I usually go through Adafruit for my orders but I couldn't resist going through Pimoroni. I've ordered a few pieces from though shop.pimoroni, and have a few of their other products - Pico Trackball, Pico Lipo, RGB Keypad, Pirate Audio, and more to come! I've been incredibly happy with the quality and build integrity, I'll definitely be coming back for more!
