Building a Volumio streamer for a non-tech-savvy friend using an old Pi2 and this HAT so wanted a simple solution. I honestly can't believe how good this thing is for the money - incredible, sound quality is waaay beyond anything I was expecting. Might have to get another to use with a Pi3 I've got kicking about :-) Very fast delivery from Pimoroni.

This was easy to assemble on the pi with spacers. Pi config was a one liner. You need a bespoke (bigger) box to accommodate the IQAudio card, with extra holes for the IQAudio output sockets. You need to choose the card in your media player software (e.g. settings | system | audio in Kodi). NB even with the default audio disabled, the hdmi cable from the pi still carries the default audio signal. To hear the IQAudio sound, I had to feed the video on the pi hdmi cable straight to the TV, not through the hifi receiver, and feed the IQAudio sound to the hifi receiver via RCA cable. So you may find that when you change (e.g. from watching a dvd) to using your media player, you may need to change the source on the hifi receiver (to choose the media player) AND the TV (to pick up video from the pi hdmi cable). Once you get your head round that, everything just works as you would expect. I can now happily play audio up to 24 bit 192k. If you are waiting for the IQAudio DacPro, stock seems to be arriving now, so don't feel you need to "make do" with the Dac+ - just hang on in there a little longer!

Mail, hier ja nur schnöde Post. sorry for my bad English, I'm an absolute beginner

No complaints, works well out of the box and works with Volumio, Balena Sound, Moode etc. Great way to get CD quality audio at a budget price when used with Raspberry Pi 4 as a streamer. Happy with the audio quality, hooked up to my Rotel 930AX amp via a UGreen RCA cable and QED speaker wire feeding Mission Model 70MK2 speakers. My hi-fi is mostly vintage except for the IQaudio Dac+ and Rpi4 combo which works very well in combination. I use Moode and stream either radio, Spotify or Quboz.

Excellent product offering great value for money. Didn't require the extra features of the IQAudio Pro as this one is all I need . Very easy to install and I was surprised that it even has IO pins on both sides, so I was able to reconnect a fan. The DAC was not immediately detected by my Raspberry PI OS, but only required a 2 line change to the config file ( all steps explained on IQAudio's PDF download).
