Tools for electronics and repair
Tools for building, soldering, repairing and working on electronics. We stock hand tools from Engineer, made in Japan for precision work, alongside iFixit toolkits and drivers for opening and repairing gadgets. You'll also find soldering supplies, test equipment, work mats and storage.
Building your kit
If you're starting from scratch, a toolkit is a straightforward way to get the essentials together. The Essential Electronics Toolkit covers everyday electronics work with drivers, tweezers and opening tools, while the Pro Tech Toolkit adds a wider selection of bits and prying tools for working on phones, laptops and consoles. The Mahi and Manta kits provide larger selections of screwdriver bits, including less common sizes and types.
From there, add the hand tools that suit the work you do. Tweezers are useful for handling small components, while side cutters and nippers make short work of component leads. Pliers are useful for gripping and bending, and spudgers help with opening cases and separating parts. Engineer's screw removal pliers are useful for removing screws with damaged heads.
Soldering and testing
For soldering, you'll find lead-free solder, a solder sucker and desoldering pump for removing solder, along with a tip cleaner and stand. A magnetic project mat helps keep small parts and screws together, while an anti-static mat provides a suitable surface for working with sensitive electronics.
For checking what a project is actually using, the USB-C power analyser can measure and graph voltage and current. When you're designing your own boards, the PCB ruler provides useful references for footprints, track widths and other PCB dimensions.
