Breakouts: sensors, displays and add-ons for any board
A breakout puts a chip or circuit on a small board with pins and connectors that make it easier to use. Connect one to a Raspberry Pi, Pico, Arduino or other microcontroller to add sensors, displays, audio, wireless connectivity and other hardware without designing the circuit yourself.

Finding the right breakout
Sensors cover everything from temperature and humidity to air quality, distance, light and motion. The BME690 measures temperature, humidity, pressure and gas resistance, the VL53L5CX measures distance across an 8x8 field of view, and the Multi-Sensor Stick combines environmental, light and motion sensors on one board.
There are also displays, audio boards, motor drivers, power and battery boards, wireless and cellular radios, GPS, analogue converters and prototyping boards.
Connecting without soldering
Qw/ST is a small four-pin connector used on many of our boards and compatible with Adafruit's STEMMA QT and SparkFun's Qwiic systems. Connect compatible boards with a JST-SH cable and you can add I2C sensors and peripherals without soldering or jumper wires. Compatible boards can also be chained together, so several sensors can share the same I2C connection.
