Type \u003ccode\u003esudo raspi-config\u003c\/code\u003e in the terminal and then under \"Interfacing options\" and \"Serial\" \u003cstrong\u003edisable the login shell\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eenable the serial port hardware\u003c\/strong\u003e. Edit your \u003ccode\u003e\/boot\/config.txt\u003c\/code\u003e file and add the lines \u003ccode\u003eenable_uart=1\u003c\/code\u003e and \u003ccode\u003edtoverlay=pi3-miniuart-bt\u003c\/code\u003e to the bottom of the file.
