It has a \u003cstrong\u003e60 FPS frame rate\u003c\/strong\u003e and a resolution of approximately 235 pixels per inch (\u003cstrong\u003e800x480\u003c\/strong\u003e) on its 4.0\" display. The display can show \u003cstrong\u003e18-bits of colour\u003c\/strong\u003e (262,144 colours).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Touch version has a capacitive touch display that's more sensitive and responsive to touch than a resistive touch display, and it's \u003cstrong\u003ecapable of multi-touch\u003c\/strong\u003e!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEverything comes \u003cstrong\u003efully-assembled\u003c\/strong\u003e, and there's no soldering required! The display is securely stuck down to the HyperPixel 4.0 PCB and connected via a neat little flush-mounting FPC cable. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePlease note:\u003c\/strong\u003e when installing HyperPixel 4.0 onto your Pi \u003cstrong\u003emake sure not to press down on the screen surface\u003c\/strong\u003e! Hold the \u003cem\u003eboard\u003c\/em\u003e by its edges and wiggle it to mate with the extended header (or GPIO header). Also take care \u003cstrong\u003enot to pull on the edges of the glass display\u003c\/strong\u003e when removing your HyperPixel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt'll work with any 40-pin version of the Pi, including Pi Zero and Pi Zero W. If you're using it with a larger Pi then use the extra 40-pin header that's included to boost it up to the required height. If you're using a Zero or Zero W then just pop it straight onto the GPIO.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe included standoff kit allows you to mount your HyperPixel 4.0 safely and securely to your Pi. Just screw them into the posts on the underside of the HyperPixel 4.0 PCB and then secure with screws through the mounting holes on your Pi.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eSoftware\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you're using a recent version of Raspberry Pi OS (Bullseye or later) then you'll need to use the built in kernel drivers - just add the following line to the end of your \u003ccode\u003eboot\/firmware\/config.txt\u003c\/code\u003e (and then reboot):\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003ccode\u003e\u003cspan\u003edtoverlay=vc4-kms-dpi-hyperpixel4\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/code\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou will need to have I2C disabled (\u003ccode\u003esudo raspi-config nonint do_i2c 1\u003c\/code\u003e) along with any other interfaces that use the GPIO.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you need to rotate the display you can do this using the graphical Screen Configuration utility - find it under Preferences \u0026gt; Control Centre \u0026gt; Screens in Raspberry Pi OS Trixie. This should rotate the touch too, though it might require a restart.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e⚠ The screen backlight will not automatically turn off when you shut down \/ power off your Pi.
